It's Monday! What are you reading? From Picture Books to YA

Its Monday!  What are you reading?  From Picture Books to YA is a weekly feature hosted by Jen and Kellee of Teach Mentor Texts and inspired by Its Monday!  What are you reading by Sheila at Book Journeys.

Last week, I was absolutely glued to Game of Thrones (book 1).  I took it with me to school (planning period reading) and to the waterpark (I looked up when my husband was riding!).  I've been looking up characters on wikipedia, looking at the Game of Thrones wiki (it has its own, yes) and googling maps of the Seven Kingdoms.  I'm slightly obsessed.  It is so good!  I really want to watch the show, but it isn't on Netflix.  I'm going to try Hulu, and hope that that works.  I don't know what I'm going to do if it doesn't.  Is it in Redbox?  Fingers crossed!

Also, its not too late to sign up to share your favorite holiday book here on the bookshelf!  I'd love to have 25 different people doing posts (or me linking to their post that day)---one for every day leading to Christmas!  Click here to sign up!  Please sign up!  There are plenty of spots available!

Last Monday, I was a little disappointed with myself because I didn't have that many posts scheduled.  But, by the end of the week, I think I did pretty good.
Nov 12:  It's Monday! post
Nov 13:  Review:  Fingerprints of You (I got a lovely tweet from the author---always makes my day!)
Nov 15:  Thursday #Thirstday
Nov 16:  App review:  Number Run (I got an email from the company thanking me for my review and asking if they could use a snipit on their website.  YES!)
Nov 17:  Be a giver

This week, I'm planning on keeping reading Game of Thrones (I'm reading an ebook edition and last I checked I was on page 460 of 800.  YIPES!)  I feel bad, I kind of abandoned Wonder Show once I got GoT, but I CAN"T PUT IT DOWN!  Plus, its a library ebook, so I only have it for 2 weeks.  I gotta keep reading!

Posts Planned:

  4. Game of Thrones is a book I would definitely recommend even though I doubt I will read the other books in the series since I keep getting attached to characters who meet unfortunate fates!

  5. I know what you mean about The Game of Thrones. I stopped at Book 3 mid-way though as I am currently absorbed (and officially obsessed) with Walter Moers and Ray Bradbury. Haha. Perhaps I'd return to it again once I'm done with my Zamonian adventure. Seems like my small frame can only take one fantastical journey at a time. Happy thanksgiving!
