{25 Days of Holiday Book Reviews}: The Night Before Christmas

Today's guest blogger is Amanda from Letters Inside Out, a young adult book blog.

Amanda is one of the cohosts of the Geeks Who Read online book club that I'm a member of (and sign-ups will be open soon for new members, if you're interested!).  I asked Amanda if she would be interested in guest posting, and I think I got a response back in 10 minutes saying, "Yes!"  I just really appreciate her willingness to guest post!

Books in my household have always played a huge role. When Amanda asked me to write about my favorite holiday book, well, my mind went straight to the most cliche place - Twas The Night Before Christmas. I know it's technically a poem, but as a child I never really realized that.

My family always had one of those unmatching Christmas trees. Ornaments passed down or homemade mixed with storebought ones we just couldn't do without. (Come on, everyone needs a cute little mouse ornament!) Matching trees are always gorgeous, but there's just something about those that are all crazy with meaning and randomness.

My favorite ornament, though, was a small hardcover copy of Twas The Night Before Christmas. It was only about 3x3 inches, but I loved that book. It was always one of the last ornaments I'd find a place for, because before I finished I had to read it at least once. Then I would proceed to read it often over the holiday season.

It just isn't Christmas without it.
Thank you, Amanda!
