In My Mailbox--NerdyBookClub edition

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi, The Story Siren, in which you post about the books / bookish things you got that week.

I am a lifelong member of the NerdyBookClub.  I've loved to read for as long as I can remember.  So, when I saw on Twitter that several educators (who always have the best book recommendations!) were creating an online book club---the Nerdy Book Club (#nerdybookclub), I knew I had to join.  To find out more information, click here.

Because of their recommendations, I bought the following books this week:

Mr. John Schumaker (@mrschureads / cofounder of the Nerdy Book Club /librarian extraordinaire) tweeted that he would send an autographed copy of The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate to someone who retweeted him---luckily enough, he chose me!

Yes, I AM wearing my school t-shirt...but at least my eyes are open(ish)...its Friday evening, leave me alone :)

I got from the library (because they were ALA winners or honorees this year):
-Grandpa Green by Lane Smith (even though I read it already, I want to take it to school and share)
-Breaking Stalin's Nose by Eugine Yelchin
-Inside Out and Back Again by Thannha Lai

I also purchased for my husband:
*Vaccine A:  The Covert Government Experiment That's Killing Our Soldiers---and Why GI's Are Only the First Victims by Gary Matsumoto
(I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but when he was in the Navy, he did get 2 shots of the anthrax vaccine, and its worrysome)
