Review: Wrong Way

Wrong Way by Mark Macleod and Judith Rossell (Kane Miller Publishing) is a cute picture book that reminds me of Tacky the Penguin (Helen Lester) and promotes individuality and walking to the beat of your own drum.

Here is the summary from Kane Miller:
Three little ducklings, Right Way, Your Way and Wrong Way, are about to have their first swimming lesson, but it’s a long walk to the pond, and they must pay attention and follow Mother Duck. Two of the ducklings always do as they are told, while one prefers doing things his own unique way. A charming book about spreading your wings and finding your own way in the world.

Right Way and Your Way listen to their Mother Duck and do whatever she tells them.  Then there's Wrong Way.  Wrong Way doesn't want to walk in line like the others.  They are going too fast.  He wants to ride on Mother Duck's back.  He wants to stop and eat snails.  He'll get to the pond eventually.

I thought this book was really cute.  There is nothing wrong with walking to the beat of your own drum.  Wrong Way wasn't wrong, he just wanted to do it HIS way.  He got the same results.

I say it reminded me of Tacky the Penguin as Tacky gives the same message:  its ok to be unique.

I'd like to thank Kane Miller Publishing for sending me this delightful book.
