Its Monday! What are you reading? From Picture Books to YA is a weekly feature hosted by Jen and Kellee of Teach Mentor Texts and inspired by Its Monday! What are you reading by Sheila at Book Journeys.
Last week recap:

January 10: Book Talk Tuesday Link Up Hosted by The Lemme Library (I just linked up one of
my previous review posts)
Review: Because of Mr. Terupt
January 11: Review: Vesper by Jeff Sampson
Where in the World Are You? Wednesdays (I was in 1888 London with Jack the Ripper!)
January 13: Follow and Feature Friday
January 14: This Week On Pinterest

Books I read last week:
-Vesper by Jeff Sampson
-The Peculiars by Maureen Doyle McQuerry
-Ripper by Amy Carol Reeves
-Freshman Year and Other Unnatural Disasters by Meredith Zeitlin
-Have fun, Anna Hibiscus by Atinuke
-Anna Hibiscus by Atinuke
I wrote the reviews for The Peculiars and Ripper, but they aren't being posted until closer to their book birthdays (May 1 and April 8, respectively). I haven't written the review yet, but I'll be doing the same for Freshman Year... (and something special with the author!)
BIG NEWS:
As part of our final project for our masters classes, a group of teachers at my school and I are creating text sets that correlate to our state history standards in 2-6 grades. I started a blog to share this with the world and will be blogging there occasionally. Go visit Text Sets 4 Us and let me know what you think.
This coming week:

Review of Anna Hibiscus by Atinuke
January 18: I blacked out my blog and didn't post a thing in protest of the SOPA and PIPA acts
January 19: Instead of Where in the World Are You Wednesday (hosted by Musings of a Book Lover) I did a There you Are Thursday!

I'm reading Artemis Fowl: The Opal Deception by Eion Colfer.
ReplyDeleteGreat news you have for the blog Amanda.
Awesome books! You've read so much this week; that's fantastic! I haven't heard of a lot of these, but they sound really great. I'll definitely look into them :)
ReplyDeleteCannot wait to see your text sets- what a great activity!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of your books you are reading at present, although I just hopped over and read your review Because of Mr Terupt. I read this book to my class last year and they loved it! It was great as a read aloud. We liked it so much we skyped with Rob Buyea.
ReplyDeleteBut that's the thing about books we all often just love different ones.
