Christmas Remembered by Tomie dePaola is a collection of short stories about various Christmases in Tomie dePaola's life.  Like me, he says the Christmas is his favorite time of year, and these are his memories of friends, family, and events of Christmases past.

I really enjoyed reading Tomie's Christmas memories.  I think my favorite story was the first, The Miraculous Christmas Fireplace.  They didn't have a real fireplace in the apartment they lived in at the time, but every year, without fail, his mother would create a fireplace.  In his mind, it was the real deal and it wasn't until years later that the illusion was found. 

As always, Tomie dePaola's illustrations are wonderful.
