Sleepers by Megg Jensen: Review and Giveaway!

What would you do for a friend?  Would you risk everything?  Are you ruled by anger or compassion?  Who decides what is "right"?  Sleepers by Megg Jensen explores all of these questions and more.

From Megg's blog, here is the summary:
An adoptee raised in a foreign land, sixteen-year-old Lianne was content with her life as handmaiden to the queen, until a spell cast on her at birth activated. Now she's filled with uncontrollable rage and access to magic she thought had been bled from her people years ago. Even her years of secret training in elite hand-to-hand combat and meditation can’t calm the fires raging inside her.

Her heart is torn between two boys, the one she’s always loved and the one who always ignored her. But when the kingdom threatens to tear itself apart due to rumors surrounding the queen’s alleged affair, who will Lianne protect and who will she destroy?

When Megg sent out a tweet on twitter asking for reviewers for her new book, Sleepers, I jumped at the chance!  I loved Anathema (book 1 of The Cloud Prophet Trilogy...you can read my review here!), and knew that I had to read another of her books.  Sleepers did not disappoint!  In fact, I was kind of bummed that it ended!

Lianne knows nothing of her homeland, except what has been told to her.  She and two other children were chosen to be adopted by families in Dalagan, the nation that beat her country of Fithian, in hopes that they would learn civility (though you'll come to learn that while the Dalagans had other plans for the children, so did the Fithians).  Through some twists and turns, Lianne comes to learn that she is magical, and there is a plot to overthrow the King of Dalagan and his family.  This poses a problem as Lianne is best friends with the Queen and loves their children.  Lianne not only has to figure out who she is (anger or compassion), but what she should do (how far she would go for a friend).

If you are a fan of fantasy, spunky heroines, or just need a good book to read while you are sitting at the beach or by the pool, then you need to get a copy of Sleepers, pronto.

And now, the fun part!  To enter to win an ebook of Sleepers (in your choice of format--Kindle, Nook, Smashwords or PDF), you have to do a couple things:
1.  Read my contest/giveaway policy.
2.  Be a follower.
3.  Leave a comment with your name, email, blog address (if you have one) and preferred ebook format.
4.  Open internationally.
5.  *optional* If you choose to tweet or blog about the giveaway, (and you don't have to to enter) make sure you let me know (either by putting @maestra_amanda in your tweet, or sending me a link to your blog.)

Since I'm going to be out of town until August 18th, the contest will run from now until then!  I will forward the winner's name, email and preferred format to Megg.  Good luck!

I'd like to thank Megg for the opportunity to read and review Sleepers, and for her generous donation of a copy for one of you lucky people!  If you are on twitter, make sure you follow her, @meggjensen1, and me, @maestra_amanda!
