My #schooljoy for today was two of my newbies (3rd graders) coming to my room today. They looked at all the books on my shelves and were dumbfounded (in a good way). They were really excited about the illustrated classic graphic novels that I had (The Hound of the Baskervilles, 20000 Leagues Under The Sea, Black Beauty, The Swiss Family Robinson, etc). I think that's pretty neat because those classics are so hard to get into (at least for me....and most 3rd graders!).
Also---I love my coworkers! So many different personalities, but all so fun to talk to!

My #schooljoy? Easy, having a few extra hours to myself to get some things done around the house after my husband and 5 year old head off to school :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, I think it's cool to have the graphic novels for kids to get them interested in the classics. Hook them young with pictures and the awesome stories, then the writing and nuances will be appreciated later :)
