It's Monday! What are you reading? From Picture Books to YA

Its Monday!  What are you reading?  From Picture Books to YA is a weekly feature hosted by Jen and Kellee of Teach Mentor Texts and inspired by Its Monday!  What are you reading by Sheila at Book Journeys.

The A/C at my house is broken, and it has been the hottest week so far.  It should be fixed today or tomorrow, but I'm about ready to melt.  This is the last week of school, though, so I'm excited and ready for a break.

I'm in a reading slump, I guess.  I don't really feel like doing anything.  None of the books on my shelf excite me when I look at them (and I have some really good ones waiting for me).  Though, my friend let me borrow BARRY TROTTER AND THE UNAUTHORIZED PARODY and BARRY TROTTER AND THE UNNECESSARY SEQUEL, so we'll see how those go...

Since it is now June (!!!!!!!), I am retiring my May calendar, but I'll leave you with the link in case you want to go back and check out my ArmchairBEA posts.

  1. I didn't read anything much the last week of school either, but we're starting our SECOND week of summer break and it's 57 degrees out here! If you feel like reading this coming weekend, make sure you join us for the 48 Hour Book Challenge. A great way to wind up the year and get ready for summer!

    1. 57 degrees in June? Oh my, I don't think I could handle that either! Let me see what we have going on this weekend, but I'd like to do that challenge! Thank you :)

  2. All I am reading these days are essays and projects - the last of the grading. But that's what summer is for - glorious time to read, right?!

  3. I totally understand reading slumps. I was in one for the whole month of April. I only read 1 book the whole month! It happens to all of us.

  4. I didn't read as much as I could have last week because I kept looking at my stack & feeling unenthusiastic about everything there. Have a great week!

  5. I'm in my final week of school so guess I'll settle mostly with reading blog posts. It is so, so busy! Hope you find a really great read soon!

  6. I know what you mean about being in a reading slump - I get those too every now and again. I just pick up a Bradbury novel though, and I'm good to go. :) Enjoy summer!

  7. Reading slumps are unavoidable even for those of us who think "so many books, so little time!" Plus, sometimes it's nice to not read for awhile because it makes the book that finally gets you excited again even more enjoyable.
