I just love this sweet book about a boy and his pet turkey (who was supposed to be dinner!). I really like that it is available in both English and Spanish, as there really aren't many Thanksgiving books that are in both. My students like when I read the Spanish one aloud, I think it's because they can make fun of my accent, but it sparks good discussion on predictions and (to use the QAR term), author and me and on my own questions.
Summary and images from Amazon (I hate that "look inside" checkmark, but wanted to include the link in case you wanted to buy the book):
In this warm holiday story, a young Puerto Rican boy saves the life of his pet turkey with help from his close-knit New York City family and neighborhood.
